Privacy policy

Who we are

Sip Notes is operated by [company name, address]. Questions about your data: [privacy contact email].

What we collect

Account: your email address, and your name and photo if you sign in with Google or add them to your profile.

Age confirmation: the date and time you confirmed you are 21 or older.

Your journal: the tastings you log, including notes, ratings, tags, places, prices and label photos.

Preferences: units, language and favorite styles.

Usage: anonymous page-view statistics through Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies.

Event offers

If you claim an offer at an in-store tasting, the name, email and phone number you enter in that form are sent to the event organizer [brand/company] to fulfil the offer and, if you agreed, to contact you. That form is separate from your journal.

Your journal is private

Only you can see your journal. We do not sell it or share it with brands, stores or advertisers.

The one exception is opt-in: when you save a tasting from an event, you can tick the box to share that pour with the brand hosting the tasting. Only that tasting’s rating, taste profile (sweetness, body, acidity), aroma tags, “buy again” answer and date are shared, without your name, email, photos or notes. It is off unless you turn it on, and you can turn it off by editing the tasting.

Where your data is stored

Your account and journal are stored with Supabase [region], and the app is hosted by Vercel. Notes you write offline are kept on your phone until they sync.

Your choices

Export: Settings → Download CSV gives you every tasting at any time.

Delete: Settings → Delete account permanently removes your account, journal, photos and profile. [Backups are purged within N days.]

[Add state-specific rights, e.g. California (CCPA/CPRA), as advised.]

Children

Sip Notes is only for people 21 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
